The Consultative Committee of Members of Parliament linked to the Ministry of Coal met on Wednesday to discuss ‘Commercial Coal Mining Reforms and Leveraging Private Sector Participation’. Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, noted that 14 rounds of commercial coal mine auctions have been completed, with a 15th round underway. He stated that these reforms have enhanced competitiveness and efficiency in the coal sector. The Minister mentioned that the Ministry is working with industry bodies and private companies to promote awareness and participation through roadshows and consultations.
